From the bucolic beauty of Lake Cle Elum to the humming heart of tech-savvy Redmond; Carolann’s dream of creating beauty and style as a hair artist began when she was a child in her grandmother’s studio salon. When Carolann Joy opened her eponymous Redmond salon in 2009, she brought nearly a decade of experience to the intimate space creating a soothing environment just for women. Carolann’s first foray into styling was in 2001 as an aspiring artist at the Gene Juarez Academy. After her graduation, she put her amazing skills to work in an upscale salon in beautiful Issaquah, Washington. Her dream then took her to the thriving center of Downtown Bellevue, where she rented a station at longtime resident Michael’s of Bellevue Salon, which garnered her many happy and loyal customers from all walks of life. Carolann, however, followed her heart, and knew that she wanted to own her own place…and in a case of perfect timing, an opportunity opened up for her in a wonderful old house. Many of Carolann’s clients from over the years had followed her from place to place, and now found a warm, welcoming home in a wonderfully stylish and uniquely savvy boutique salon in the heart of Redmond. Carolann’s loyal clientele say they have stayed because she is a pleasure to work with and she fashions their hair to perfection. That fashionable seed planted by Grandma Helen all those years ago has blossomed fully into a love of hair, and a knowledgeable passion for creating a beautiful look specific to each client’s style and personality.

The C. Joy Salon marks an important point in Carolann’s life, having come to a place where creating beauty for both hair and for her client relationships allows her to “give back” to those around her. Her lifelong dream of creating the perfect environment where customers could leave feeling perfectly refreshed both inside and out, has become a reality at C. Joy Salon. As a stylist, Carolann has an artistic eye for creating designer cuts that compliment her clients’ personalities along with rich colors that enhance beauty while maintaining the hair’s natural beauty and condition. As a business owner, Carolann is committed to offering a unique salon experience combined with excellent customer service.
