How long have you been in business?
Eight years under the name Light Doctor. The Company was started in 1980 under the name, Pacific Coast Industrial Lighting.
What is your primary product or service?
Lighting maintenance services and lighting retrofit services for commercial, government and military installations.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I bought the Company in 2004. Felt there was a growing need for lighting maintenance and improved lighting.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We have the finest and most experienced team of professionals in the Pacific Northwest. All of our technicians are either Journeyman Electricians or in an apprenticeship program leading to that certification. We also have a talented team of administrative people who know utility rebate programs, can handle all the paperwork dealing with a lighting retrofit job. Finally, we have talented lighting consultants who serve as account managers. These individuals know lighting and can provide clients with state of the art lighting installations.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We are headquartered in Mountlake Terrace, Washington. We also employ technicians in Oregon and so we can serve the entire Pacific Northwest. Currently, we have over 1000 locations that we service.
