How long have you been in business?
I am Kirkland's upscale boutique realtor in downtown Kirkland for over 30 years and I own my office at 14th and Market Street in Kirland.
What is your primary product or service?
I am a Designated Broker ( owner of the company), also a notary. We sell Condominiums, single family homes. I also know Multi-family units very well as I have built and owned several apartments buildings. ( Ie: Kona, Tiki and Mai-tai and a few others in Kirkland with no name on the buildings)
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I started in real estate when I was 23 years old and received my degree from the Univ of Washington have been in it ever since that time. I am a full time agent and Designated Broker.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I know Kirkland like no one else. I live in Kirkland and have lived in Kirkland for 30 years. I have jogged through the streets of Kirkland for 25 years. I know every home in Kirkland. Some of them I have sold 3 to 5 times over. Since I am a small business I give very PERSONALIZED service. They can be assured of getting someone who knows the area very well. You are not just a number here in this office.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I own my own building where I am located at 14th and Market Street and do not plan to open branch offices. We specialize in downtown Kirkland, but can sell anyplace in the state of Washington and love giving very personalized service.
Provide detailed directions to your location
From 405 - take the Kirkland/Redmond Exit off 405 and head West towards Lake Washington. Go about 2 miles till you cannot go straight any more and the road turns to the right(north). Now you are on Market Street. Head North on Market street 14 blocks. My office is on the right side of the road(east side), on the corner of 14th and Market. There is plenty of parking. Either park in my parking lot( in back) or on Market Street or on the side street of 14th Avenue.
What type of payments do you accept?
Purchase and sale agreements will need a personal check or perhaps a cashiers check for the earnest money.
Which areas do you service?
We can sell anywhere in the State of Washington. But we know the Eastside of Lake Washington best. Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond and Woodinville,
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Since I am the Designated broker, I, Laura Westlund will always run the company and day to day operations. I am usually here between 8:30 and 9:00 every day, and work till I finish everything.
What are your hours of operation?
When you are a real estate agent, we primarily work 24/7. But we do not show property after dark.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
Repeat business! Most of my clients are previous clients. I love It !!!!
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
I have been an art collector and have quite a lot of art and love old 1st Editions of children's books with Illustrations. I also am a wine connoisseur and love tasting different wines. You can see some of my art in the photo's of the office.
